The vaults were places of thriving trade, taverns, cobblers, cutlers, smelters, victuallers and milliners, all left evidence of their trades.In time the vaults were abandoned and In the absence of legal trade and licensed businesses, the dark, damp wet vaults started to become home to only the very poorest and most disreputable sections of society. This included immigrant Irishmen and Highlanders seeking refuge from the clearances, mercenary landlords, and even body snatchers! |
| The Edinburgh 'hell fire club' used the squalor and dark as a hunting ground for victims of their debauchery. The vaults are full of tales of murder, treachery, rape and prostitution to name but a few. The wall are seeping with the negative energy of every evil act performed within these this environment. The atmosphere and phenomenon within the vaults make for an exciting and highly anticipated overnight vigil for Paradox. ...........Do you dare? |
