Our Body as an Instrument
Within an investigation one of your most reliable pieces of equipment is your body. You know your body better than anyone else. How would you use this tool within an investigation environment? Your senses are key here.
Sight: Looking for differences in the light within the room, shifting shapes, flashes of light etc.Sound: Just listening, you may hear mumbling or breathing, listen for a response to any questions you may ask.
Taste: Be aware of any strange tastes in your mouth.
Smell: Spirit will often manifest a particular aroma pertinent to them i.e Cigarette smoke, perfume
Touch: You may experience a cobweb sensation on your face, hair touched or pulled, breath on your skin
Body: A drop in temperature is significant also.
Other sensations within the body to be aware of:
- * Nausea
- * Dizziness
- * Fainting
- * Extreme emotional responses (giggling / crying / anger)
- * Sensation in the stomach (solar plexus)
- * Coldness
All these sensations will pass when you are out with the area of activity.
